Variable Compensation
- Additional variable compensation may be provided in line with the organization’s policy.
- Performance-based Bonus: Based on exceptional performance (8/10 on Dexter's Performance Rating Matrix), team revenue performance, and CEO discretion
Indicative Compensation for Years 2 & 3
- The compensation structure for years 2 and 3 is indicative.
- Exceptional candidates may receive a higher package, determined on a case-by-case basis.
Outplacement Support
- After 3 years, Dexter will offer outplacement support to candidates looking to move to buy-side roles in PE/VC/Family Office firms.
- Outplacement support is subject to performance and CEO discretion.
Hiring Criteria
Educational Background
- Only candidates from IIT (Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Roorkee, BHU) and BITS Pilani (Pilani campus only).
Experience
- Must Have: At least 6+ months of past work/internship experience in a VC/PE fund or Investment Bank.
- Good to Have: 12+ months of experience in a startup (growth or product roles only).
Academic Focus
- Curriculum: Final-year minors/electives in business, management, economics, or entrepreneurship.
- CFA Certification: CFA Level 1 is mandatory (higher levels carry more weight).
Additional Qualifications
Good to Have: Extra-curricular achievements such as:
- Wins in reputed B-Plan or stock pitch/valuation competitions.
- Contributions to campus E-Cells, student-run funds, incubators, or Placement Committees.
Dealmaker Track
This role is equivalent to a Partner at Dexter Capital. Candidates will be supported in pursuing careers outside Dexter (e.g., via MBA, buy-side roles, or entrepreneurship). However, Dexter also encourages candidates to stay and grow within the organization or its affiliates (Dexter Ventures or Delta Partners).
Dexter Retention Bonus Program
- After 3 years of service, candidates are eligible for an additional retention bonus of 15 Lacs, distributed in three equal annual installments, if they choose to continue with Dexter.
