Training Programs
Eligibility
- CFA Level 2; &
- 6 - 12 months experience in:
- Private Equity / Venture Capital
- Front-End Investment Banking
- Back or Middle Office roles in a bulge bracket investment banking firms supporting their front-end IB team
- Investment Banking KPO
- Financial Due Diligence in Big 4
- Commercial Due Diligence in top tier Consulting Firm (MBB, Alvarez & Marsal, AT Kearney, Praxis Global, etc.)
- Credit Rating agency
- Equity Research
- Candidates not eligible for the Junior Fellowship Program due to education or experience, or those unable to meet the cut-off percentile for the Junior Fellowship Program, but demonstrating keen interest and a hunger for business, finance, entrepreneurship, and/or investment toward investment banking.
Program Duration
Total of 18 months divided into: • 6 months under Management Training + • 6 months in the Junior Fellowship Program + • 6 months in the Senior Fellowship Program
Compensation
- • First 0-6 months (Management Training Program) ₹40,000 per month
- • Next 7-12 months (Junior Fellowship Program) ₹55,000 per month
- • Final 13-18 months (Senior Fellowship Program) ₹65,000 per month
Intake : 2 candidates every quarter
What You Can Expect
- Front-end role – direct interaction with start-up founders from Day 1
- Understanding of the full deal cycle – right from first call with the founder to the time money is in the bank
- Understand Dexter’s thesis unique lens of start-up evaluation
What You Will Work On
- Interaction with start-up founders from day 1 in evaluation of potential deals
- Assisting the deal lead in entire deal execution including being part of Dexter-Investor calls Company-Investor calls
- Collateral preparation including financial model, IM, Teasers, competition benchmarking, valuation comps, etc.
- Coordination of various due diligence processes (tax, financial, legal, etc.), investor/client calls meetings, etc.
- Deal documentation closure processes
- Industry/sector research for deal sourcing assist in finalizing M&A/VC/PE mandates
- Preparation and updation of marketing materials for clients, media, conferences, etc.
- Updating internal MIS/databases
How to Apply
- Interested candidates may apply with their resume by filling the form (by clicking in Apply Now at the bottom).
- Post filling the form, we will share the assessment test link with the selected candidates. The test would have a moderate difficulty level and would be time-bound so the candidate(s) may brush up on their knowledge and may give some mock tests before appearing for the actual test. A percentile method with a minimum cut-off score would be used to shortlist candidates.
- On clearing the test, selected candidates will undergo a rigorous interview process with a minimum of 2 rounds, potentially lasting up to 4 rounds.
- If not shortlisted, the candidate may re-apply in 3 months after skill improvement or may opt for a lower program.
- The selected candidate will be on a contract basis during training and will convert into a full-time employee upon successful program completion.
- Candidates are expected to work from Dexter's offices in Bangalore, Delhi, or Mumbai, ideally from the supervisor's location.
- Candidates will enroll in approved online courses, such as Finnacle Shah Academy’s Fin Pro Program (for Graduates) or Fin Bridge Program (for 2nd-year students). Other institutions may be considered after due diligence.
- The expenses for training and online courses will initially be borne by the candidate and reimbursed upon successful program completion and 2 years of employment with Dexter.
- While undergoing the course, candidates are expected to work full-time at Dexter to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Each program duration (management training and fellowships) will be 6 months each.
- Upon successful completion of the program and evaluation, candidates may progress from Management Training to Junior Fellowship, Senior Fellowship, and potentially receive a full-time offer as an Investment Banking Analyst.
- If performance does not meet expectations, the program duration may be extended by 3-6 months to allow improvement before a full-time offer is considered.
- The program can be terminated for indiscipline, lack of sincerity, or other extraordinary circumstances.
- Candidates are encouraged to enroll for CFA Levels 1/2/3. Examination fees will initially be covered by the candidate and reimbursed upon passing the CFA exam and completing 12 months of employment.
- Relocation expenses are not covered by the company.
- Candidates will not have access to company-provided insurance or healthcare benefits during the program. These benefits will become available upon full-time employment conversion.
- Note: Candidates are required to have their own laptops for work. The company does not provide laptops.
